Who we are
Counterpick Coach (counterpickcoach.com) is run by FALLINGHIPPO LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17415391. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ. We're not registered for VAT.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean FALLINGHIPPO LIMITED. "You" means anyone using the site.
You can reach us at legal@counterpickcoach.com.
Using the site means these terms apply
By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
If you're under 18, it's a good idea to read the short version above with a parent or carer. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay.
What the site is, and what it isn't
Counterpick Coach suggests which character to play in competitive games. For each character it adds up points from counters, your team's needs, team comp, synergy with your teammates, the map, bans and your rank, and shows the reasons behind each pick. Some games only have a listing for now and are marked as planned.
Please keep these things in mind:
- The picks are opinions. They come from match statistics that other sites publish and from rules we wrote ourselves. They're our best judgement, not facts or guarantees.
- They can be out of date. Games change with every patch and season. We say on each page when the data was last checked, and anything not yet confirmed is marked as provisional. A pick that was right last week may not be right today.
- They can't know your match. Your own skill on a character, your team's communication and plenty of other things matter more than a point or two in our scores.
- We don't promise results. We can't promise you'll win, climb or improve by following a pick.
We do take reasonable care over the data and how the site works, and we fix mistakes when we find them. If you spot one, tell us.
The site is not made, approved or supported by any game publisher. See Notices for who owns each game.
What you can and can't do
You can
- use the site for yourself, as often as you like, on any device;
- share links to any page;
- quote a few picks or reasons in a stream, video, post or chat, with a link back or a mention of Counterpick Coach;
- take screenshots for your own use or to share in the same way.
You can't
- copy, download or republish all or a large part of our data, such as the counter tables, scores or written reasons, or rebuild it piece by piece over time;
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers or scripts to collect content from the site, except search engines indexing pages for search results;
- use the site's content to train, fine-tune or feed an AI or machine-learning model, or to build a dataset for one;
- put the site inside a frame or app, or present our picks as your own or as an official tool from a publisher;
- send so many requests that the site slows down, try to break its security, or get round any limit we put in place;
- use the site for anything illegal.
Some uses are allowed by law whatever these terms say. For example, the law lets you take small parts of a database for any purpose, and lets researchers analyse content for non-commercial research. These terms don't take those rights away.
If you'd like to use our data in a way that isn't allowed here, email us and ask. We're often happy to say yes.
If someone breaks these rules, we may block their access to the site.
Who owns what
Ours
The site's design, code and text, the Counterpick Coach name and mark, and the data we've put together (including the counter tables, scoring rules and written reasons) belong to FALLINGHIPPO LIMITED. They're protected by copyright and database right.
The publishers'
Game names, character names, portraits, maps, key art and logos belong to the companies that make the games. We use them only to show which game and character we're talking about. Using them here doesn't mean a publisher made, approved or works with Counterpick Coach. The Notices page lists every owner, the notices they ask for, and how a rights holder can ask us to take something down.
Other sources
Some statistics come from other sites, such as published win rates. We credit them on the page where they're used. They remain theirs.
Links to other sites
We link to publishers' patch notes, wikis and statistics sites so you can check our sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them or how they use your data. Read their terms and privacy notices before you use them.
Changes, breaks and closing down
- The site. We'll keep improving the site, which means adding and removing games and features. We may also need to remove a game or its art if a publisher asks. Sometimes the site may be slow or unavailable, for example while we update it or if our host has a problem. We'll try to fix things quickly, but we can't promise the site will always be available.
- Closing down. We may stop running the site. If we do, we'll say so on the site at least 30 days before, where we can.
- These terms. We may update these terms to reflect changes to the site or the law. We'll change the date at the top and, if a change matters, say so on the site at least 14 days before it applies. If you don't like a change, you can simply stop using the site. The changes apply from the date shown, not to anything that happened before.
What we're responsible for
This section is about what happens if something goes wrong. We've tried to keep it fair and in plain English.
What we're always responsible for
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- damage to your device or your other digital content caused by something we supplied, if it happened because we didn't use reasonable care and skill. If this happens, we'll repair the damage or pay you fair compensation;
- anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude.
Where we're not responsible
The site is free and gives opinions about games. So, apart from the things listed above, we're not responsible for:
- the result of any match, or any loss of rank, rating, in-game items or progress, whether or not you followed a pick;
- losses that weren't a foreseeable result of something we did wrong. A loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if you and we both knew it might happen when you used the site;
- business losses, such as lost profit, sponsorship or income, if you use the site for work (for example as a coach or team). The site is meant for personal use;
- problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as a fault at our hosting provider, a game update that changes how characters work, or an attack on the site;
- what's on other sites we link to.
If you're a consumer in the UK, you have legal rights in relation to digital content and services. Advice about them is available from Citizens Advice. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
You can bring legal proceedings about the site in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring them in Scotland or in England and Wales. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring them in Northern Ireland or in England and Wales. Wherever you live in the UK, you keep the protections that your local law gives consumers.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
